The BC Vacuum Sealed Coffee Canister is designed to help keep your coffee fresher for longer by protecting it from oxygen, moisture, and light — the main causes of coffee staling.
Using a built-in vacuum-seal system, the canister actively removes oxygen from inside to slow oxidation, helping preserve the flavour and aroma of your coffee beans or grounds.
Crafted from food-grade 304 stainless steel with a sleek matte black finish, it’s durable enough for daily use while complementing any kitchen or café setup.

Important Note on the Vacuum Indicator
Fresh coffee beans naturally release carbon dioxide (CO₂) after roasting — a process known as degassing.
When coffee is stored in a sealed container, this gas can build up inside the canister. As a result, you may notice the vacuum indicator button rise after a few hours or even a few days, depending on the freshness of the beans — with freshly roasted coffee releasing gas more quickly.
This does NOT mean outside air has entered the canister, and it does NOT mean the canister is faulty.
What causes coffee to go stale is oxygen, not CO₂.
CO₂ released from the beans does not age coffee — oxidation only occurs when oxygen from outside air enters the container.
If the seal is intact, the canister continues to protect your coffee even if the indicator rises due to internal gas pressure.
How to Check if Your Canister Is Working Correctly
If you’re unsure whether your canister is functioning properly, you can perform a simple test.
Before Testing
-
Make sure the canister and lid are clean and completely dry
-
Check that there are no coffee grounds, dust, or debris on the sealing rim or gasket, as this can prevent a proper seal
Empty Canister Test
-
Seal the canister while it is empty.
-
Leave it untouched for 24 hours.
-
✔ Indicator remains down → the seal is working correctly
-
✖ Indicator rises while empty → the canister may be faulty
If your canister passes the empty test, then any indicator movement when coffee is inside is due to normal coffee degassing, not air leakage.
Best Practice for Daily Use
This canister is designed for active, everyday use — open, brew, reseal.
For best results:
-
Reseal after each use
-
With very fresh beans, resealing every 1–3 days is normal
-
This helps keep oxygen out while allowing natural coffee degassing
Is This the Right Canister for Me?
This canister is ideal if you:
-
Brew coffee regularly
-
Want to slow oxidation during daily use
-
Prefer a durable, reusable, and easy-to-use storage solution
If you prefer to store coffee unopened for long periods (weeks or months), long-term storage methods such as original valve bags kept in a cool, dark place or vacuum-packing may be more suitable.
