First time using a bottomless portafilter on our BES870. Been using this machine for close to 15 years now, we've had a few of them over the years. Recently our standard Breville basket split open so I needed a new one, ended up buying this bottomless portafilter instead.Fits very snug into the group head, almost too tight, but I'm sure overtime it will loosen up.In the video I'm using store bought beans from one of the big supermarkets, not freshly roasted local beans. Although... I do have a way to find these beans so that's reasonably closer to the roast date. Always with these machines, you need to get beans that are close to their roast date for the best results.I'm pulling pretty decent shots with this portafilter, I have had to play around with the grind for the shot to pull evenly. At first I did notice some spraying out the side of the basket, this was with the grind slightly open and I'm guessing my tamp was slightly off. These bottomless portafilters show every tiny flaw in your grind and tamp! They really make you up your coffee game.One thing different I'm doing in this video... On the BES870 you can hold down the shot button to overide the full pressure pour, this allows the coffee to flow a lot slower, giving you more control over the shot. It's worth testing out!Overall I'd say this was one of those successful purchases, so far it's getting better results that the standard Breville basket. But as always, you need somewhat freshly roasted beans, the perfect grind and tamp to get those sticky yummy shots! Enjoy...

Having the bottomless really helped me see how bad my espresso was turning out and the reasons why. Fits. Easy to use like any other one. Similar weight . Easy to clean and doesn’t Leak. A bit expensive for what it is.

I have a Breville BES and this works and fits like a charm.Coffee splashes but that need to fine tune the coffee extraction. This works well, is a 54mm and very light to use.Perfect gift for the coffee lover you know!

This portafilter is a game-changer for my daily coffee routine. The natural rosewood handle feels amazing in my hand, and the stainless steel basket is easy to clean. This worked great with my Breville Bambino. I have the basic Bambino model that is not the plus. The brewing baskets that come with the Bambibo also work with this portafilter. I recommend it.
